( December 7, 2016, London- Colombo – Canberra, Sri Lanka Guardian) We are happy to announce our partnership with The Conversation, in which we will be able to bring you in-depth views expressed by academics and researchers around the globe. We at the Guardian believe this will be an opportunity to expand the boundaries of our decade-long journalism endeavour while creating an opportunity for both readers and writers to enhance their understanding of international affairs.
The Conversation is an independent news and analysis outlet, sourced from the academic and research community. It was launched in March 2011 by a group of academics in Australia, and quickly became one of Australia’s largest independent news and commentary sites. It now has editions based in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and South Africa, as well as its latest international site, The Conversation Global.
The mission of The Conversation is to give “access to independent, high-quality, authenticated, explanatory journalism that underpins a functioning democracy. Our aim is to better understand current affairs and complex issues and hopefully allow for a better quality of public discourse and conversations.”
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of The Conversation and their extensive works to bring this unique initiative. We believe our partnership will facilitate our readers around the globe, to enjoy higher participation in global affairs.
