Sri Lanka: Parliament terminates the de-facto ministers’ budget

122 members of the Parliament voted for the motion

(November 30, 2018, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The motion to cut off budgetary allocations to Cabinet, State and Deputy Ministers appointed under the de-facto Rajapaksa Government has been passed in Parliament with 122 MPs voting in favour of the motion.

The UNP, JVP and TNA voted for the motion. There were no votes cast against the motion as the UPFA MPs boycotted today's Parliament sittings as well.

Speaker then adjourned Parliament till 10.30 am on December 5.
