Rajapaksa was advanced to take this opportunity to meet Prime Minister Modi so then he may be able to clarify the situation in Colombo to maintain the goodwill relationship with the Modi Administration.

“In case if Prime Minister Modi meets him, it will be an official recognition of accepting Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka,” installed Prime Minister was advised, sources said.

President Maithripala Sirisena sacked the sitting Prime Minister Wickramasinghe by violating the Constitution in Sri Lanka and installed his choice as the Prime Minister last week of October.
